The aisles between machines are very narrow and casino staff continually have to push chairs in to create room for people to walk. However, I think they crammed too many slot machines on the floor. It would have been much better if you could access these outlets from within the casino. The plaza currently houses the Roar comedy club (old armory building), Kringle Candle (old church building), Top Golf, and Indian motorcycle apparel store. Outdoor Plaza - Nice concept but unappealing especially in the winter. MGM originally planned to build a very visible glass hotel tower on State Street but scrapped that plan for a low rise hotel on Main Street.
From I-91 all you can see is a massive parking garage. However, this is both good and bad since it doesn’t stand out and has no “wow factor”. Following are my views on various aspects of MGM Springfield.Įxterior Design - Blends nicely into the old Main Street area. Unfortunately, it has some flaws that outweigh its positives. Since I’m originally from Springfield, I really wanted to like the new MGM Springfield casino resort.
